Share Your Story

Every story matters. If you have been affected by a missing person, as a family member, friend, or someone who has experienced going missing yourself, we want to hear from you.

Why your story matters

Behind every statistic is a family in crisis. Personal stories are one of the most powerful tools we have to show MPs, the media, and the public why the UK needs emergency alerts for missing persons.

With your permission, your story may be shared on our website, social media channels, or in campaign materials to help build the case for change. You are always in control of what is shared and how.

Before you share

  • You do not need to share identifying details you are not comfortable with. A first name or initials is fine.
  • Stories are reviewed by our team before any public use. We will never publish anything without contacting you first.
  • If your loved one has been found, you are still welcome to share. Your experience is just as important.
  • If you are in immediate distress, please contact Missing People on 116 000 (free, 24/7).

Tell us your story

Share as much or as little as you feel comfortable with. There is no minimum length.

Optional preferences

Your information is handled in accordance with our privacy policy. We will never share your personal details without your explicit consent.
